Painting sailing vessels in New England has been rewarding to me for many years. It makes me think of the time when these vessels were the only means of transportation across the seas delivering goods to our shores.
I am reminded of all the work it takes to keep these ships seaworthy when one is pulled up on the ways for repair. They are repaired from
local timber by shipwrights who have passed their trade down for generations.
